Pumped Out the Pond

Over the course of about 20 minutes and a o.4kW industrial drainage pump, we got the pond almost completely drained. Of course, all the fishes had been removed, even the last huge black koi carp that we had to drain 3/4 of the pond before we could see it.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t expecting the pump to be quite so powerful, nor was I expecting the tube to have a slit in it. As you can probably tell, this resulted in me getting soaked. It was then a tight decision between keeping hold of the hose and getting completely drenched, or letting it fly. Meanwhile Dad and our neighbor were quite happily laughing their heads off !
