Welcome back to the “Place Names that Made Us Chuckle” (PNMUC) series. In this episode, we are visiting the Six Mile Bottom located somewhere in between Newmarket and Cambridge.

The Trip to Six Mile Bottom
When we got there (escorted by the esteemed Luke in a Fiesta (see future post)), it was mentioned to us that the Six Mile Bottom isn’t actually a village. After some ummmmm-ing we realised that we probably should have Wikipediarised it before we went. Anyway, the next task was to find a signpost. After a quick diversion through some great roads, we eventually found a sign. We quickly parked in a good looking bit of field, and took a brisk walk back to the signpost!

Woolie with the Six Mile Bottom sign.

Overall, its quite a shame it wasn’t a village, however its still one checked off the list! Onto higher things next week chaps!
