After a little brainstorming on new features for the site last night, I stumbled upon the idea of a “Woolie’s World Podcast” where Ben and I would discuss matters surrounding tech, dolphins, comedy etc. With guest stars from time to time of course.
The real questions are:
You don’t need iTunes to download a podcast. You just need to attach an mp3 to an RSS feed.
Firstly… There is no way to “attach” an mp3 to an RSS feed. You can reference a URI for the file using enclosures and their appropriate MIME type.
Also, try reading it again “Would you subscribe using iTunes?”… The word subscribe, not download. iTunes provides a podcast customised RSS aggregator that will automatically retrieve subscribed feeds, check for new entries, and download them if needs be. As most users aren’t fluent in XML, a feed reader is generally necessary for them if they want to check for the latest episodes. 
Perhaps we should get you on mastermind… Specialist subject, “Stating the fucking obvious”.

I would happily subscribe to it using iTunes, as I have other podcasts before then I could even listen to it on my chav-i-Pod.

Yea, beating Diggnation would be a little tricky, as they have all the content in the world. But that’s the kinda thing we’re going for so hopefully it’ll be good.
Also, this won’t be a videocast, just audio, so it won’t quite be like diggnation.
Zany Reaper… Podcasts are basically just mp3 files you can download. A player will be available for each episode, so you don’t even have to open up a media player. However, many people use automated “checkers” that check for new podcasts and downloads them.
