Site Problems

Thursday, March 15th, 2007 at 10:41 pm

I came home today to be notified that the happy server people had suspended Woolie’s World due to extremely high MySQL load. I have got the site back running again, but with only the bare WordPress core active. I will be investigating all of the other site features before I start re-activating them. This is a sever problem. I am pointing the blame currently on the forums. I will not be enabling the forums again until I find a better system (or I find that they weren’t to blame).

Shoutbox was a shite idea to begin with to be frank. Nobody used it and spammers could go wild with it if they wanted to.

Simon: Yea it was rather, but hey its gone now, and I’m sure I’ll find something to replace it. And yes, there’s an awful lot of backend stuff going on here to prevent spam in comments… What would I do without Akismet.

Matt: lol, quite
