First of all, mine arrived first (me being Woolie) and before the designated delivery date. This means that I win, feel free to throw roses, tomatoes etc. I won’t mention the fact that they’re broken, smell funny and the microphone is missing.
No, really, I would recommend Electronics Online (UK) they got my order out fast and without any problems (except a minor debit card error) and it is all in one piece etc.
Short review
The headphones are good, nothing special, but good. Previously I had a pair of over ear headphones from GAME (cost about £18) and I can’t really tell the difference in sound between them and the Sennheiser PC160 (that cost £55), except the depth is slightly better and it has a larger frequency range. I’m not completely sure that they are worth what I paid for them. On the other hand they’re very comfortable and have lots of nice padding to keep things soft. One downside I find is that the they don’t “clamp” to your head like my old ones did. With these, if I look down at my desk, they’ll fall off unless I re-adjust the headband to be upright again. This can be pretty annoying. Apart from that, the sound quality is of a good standard and can be improved by tweaking the EQ, reverb and compression using software of your choice. The sound quality is noticeable better if the volume is turned up (just past the comfortable volume), but this is sometimes the case with many headphones.
DVDs
DVDs sound good although the supposed “3D sound” isn’t very noticeable. As the speakers are a way away from your ear (through padding) this gives the sound a bit more of a realistic feel to it.
Microphone
The microphone on it is (from what I have been told by the other person using VoIP) very good and I have recorded myself and played it back and can confirm this. They do provide a wind sponge thing (not shown in most of the pictures) and can be easily taken off if you choose not to use it.
All in all, they’re a very comfortable pair of headphones and I don’t regret buying them, just I think they should be around the £30 mark rather than £50+. They would work perfectly for gamers and general headphone use and are small enough to carry around (if you should want to).
